This empire period Old Paris tea caddy, canister or jar from the 1830’s is sure to delight. It was likely designed and sold as a tea canister, but a lidded jar can certainly serve many functions. The painted harbor scene is typical of those more commonly encountered on sets of garniture vases of the 1830’s. The flat top lid is especially nice as it provides surface for related landscape scene. The body is painted in the round with a harbor scene featuring tall ships
